A beauty that is being overlooked by Amr KSA

 is "La Date Astrale".

until today i had not seen this piece in the metal, but only through two pictures; one of which was the press release pic. and, like most pics, it did not do the watch any justice at all...

before seeing it, i thought the concept was really cool, but 39mm??? i automatically labeled it a lady's watch. how wrong of me...

with the flash on, the dial looks a bit like the black enamel. but it's not at all...

like most J*D watches, this one is impossible to photograph. firstly because the sunburst, satin finish dial is hard to capture, and secondly because unlike an enamel dial, this one is way more 3-dimensional; with about 3 different levels. very unique.

i love that satin sunburst...

and a shot of what would be a great pair:

and back to the size... this isn't the best wrist shot, but i swear on my 6.6 inch wrist this watch felt more like a 42mm. i thought it would make a nice watch for my girl (though she's been leaning more towards a Gerald Genta), but now i want it all for myself!

and the absolute best part is: it's NOT limited edition! LOL seriously though it takes away the stress of  "oh i have to get it NOW before they run out of them!" which is kind of the dilemma i'm having with another J*D model. sigh, i came to this forum happy to be getting one J*D, and now not only am i thinking of #2, but already #3 as well!

oh and in case you're wondering, i had a lot of fun adjusting the date smile that diamond is like shooting star! and i love how the date changes instantaneously from day to day and not gradually through several hours.

i really think this watch would fit in any collection, and would also make a great gift to that special someone (or to yourself!). bravo J*D!!! i believe this one's a hit.

Thanks for looking!
